Founded in 1997 by Colby Denison, Denison Development & Construction began with a passion for design, innovation, and creativity. Colby’s first project— partnering with five award-winning architects to create a cluster of custom homes—set the tone for a legacy of thoughtful development. The company soon expanded into affordable and modular housing, becoming a trusted borrower, developer, and contractor for the City of Austin Housing Finance Corporation.

Our Unique Approach
What makes us unique is that we do no third-party work—our only customers are our tenants. This direct model lets us build, power, and operate with long-term purpose.
Our solar powers the homes we own. Our oil & gas operations, developed solely for our portfolio, complement our real estate work —one above ground, one below. Together, they fuel ventures like Denison Power + Data, where both worlds converge
Expanding the Vision: Housing & Community
This foundation of combining elevated architecture with affordable housing positioned Denison to grow into the multifamily space. Today, through affiliated entities, we own, operate, and manage that serve both seniors and families in Austin and surrounding areas. Building on our luxury senior living ventures—offering
curated wellness programs, concierge services, and elevated dining —we launched Den Haus Collective: a community-forward concept that blends cutting-edge architecture, resident artists, and private club amenities.
Sustainable Innovation
To counter the revenue limitations of affordable housing, we invested in energy. DDC Solar developed large-scale solar power plants, including the largest carport-mounted solar array in Texas, significantly reducing operational expenses and increasing sustainability.
Diversified Growth: Energy & Data Infrastructure
In 2012, we launched Denison Oil & Gas, acquiring strategic mineral and working interests in major U.S. energy plays. This expansion naturally led us into the Midland/Odessa region, where we now manage over 600 housing units. Building on these synergies, Denison Power + Data was born—a bold move at the intersection of real estate, energy, and tech. Our first data center, powered by wholesale refined natural gas, represents a pioneering leap into digital infrastructure backed by decades of cross industry experience.
